About Charity Gala: Onwards

To usher in the new year in 2024, EB Impact hosted its inaugural charity gala dinner, graced by our Guest-of-Honour, Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment.

Launched in 2019, EB Impact is a Singapore-registered non-profit dedicated to delivering training and programmes that advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region. Read our impact report.

'Onwards: Sustainability Leadership in a Time of Urgency', raised close to $125,000  to support EB Impact's efforts to nurture a generation of leaders who can competently take on the challenge of creating positive sustainable development impact within their communities. The gala also unveiled a brand new initiative at our charity event: The EB Impact Sustainability Education Grant.

EB Impact’s gala dinner also featured the well-loved ‘Sustainability Leadership A-List’ awards by Eco-Business to recognise and celebrate individuals across the region and their leadership in effecting positive change across policy, business and society.

All the net proceeds from the gala, through table sales and auction items, will be used for all our programmes throughout the year.

We are at the halfway mark from the Paris Agreement to reach our targets by 2030. The United Nations  — the United climate change COP28 meeting delivered a 2023 with a note of optimism with strengthened climate ambition amid a year that saw record-breaking temperatures, leadership is needed more than ever.

Sustainability Education Grant

This first-of-its-kind grant, by EB Impact, a non-profit dedicated to advancing positive sustainable development in Asia Pacific, in partnership with ComfortDelGro, a leading global mobility service provider, aims to transform the lives of underserved Singaporean and Asean youths who have plans to enrol or are pursuing a tertiary course in sustainability and sustainable development.

The grant offers more than just $5,00 SGD in financial aid; recipients will also gain access to mentoring and leadership opportunities, as well as a community of like-minded changemakers through EB Impact's programmes and sustainability ecosystem. On top of this, the grant comes with no bond obligations and flexibility in its utilisation.

Outside of tuition fees and living costs, applicants may use the grant for resources or trainings that will enhance their career in sustainability. Applicants are expected to demonstrate financial need, a strong commitment to community service and leadership, and must be enrolled in a sustainability-related tertiary course in an Asean-based institution.

Applications for the grant is closed. The ten grantees will be announced in July.
