Yi Jia Cher

Senior Executive (Programmes and Community)

Biography

Yi Jia is EB Impact’s Senior Executive (Programmes and Community). In her role, she focuses on designing and delivering community-based sustainability programmes that engage youths and seniors meaningfully, drawing on her background in education, facilitation, and behaviour analysis.

Her dedication towards sustainability and community engagement began when she started volunteering at Ground-up Initiative, a community farm that aims to create a mindful connection for city dwellers to (re)connect through conscious and sustainable living. She has then since contribute actively to the wider community in various ways, as a volunteer and facilitator for nature-based workshops and horse therapy for children with disabilities.

Prior to EB Impact, Yi Jia worked as a Special Education teacher, where she designed learning materials, managed diverse classroom needs, and collaborated closely with allied professionals and families to support students’ growth and well-being. She has also held roles in communications and media production, where she supported large-scale events, managed partnerships, and coordinated cross-functional project teams.

Driven by a deep concern for people and the planet, Yi Jia aspires that her work strengthens social connection and well-being of underprivileged communities and empower individuals to make a positive impact in the world.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Linguistics and Multilingual Studies from university and a Diploma in Mass Communication from polytechnic, and continues to build on her interdisciplinary skills to advance inclusive, community-driven sustainability initiatives.
